Looking for the best weight loss camp for your North Dakota child?
North Dakota Fat Camp? Come to Camp Pocono Trails Instead!
If you are a parent looking for a fat camp for teens and young adults, please consider Camp Pocono Trails. We have successfully helped thousands of teens and young adults and young men transform their lives for the better. Our campers have a multitude of positive experiences at camp which energizes and motivates them to go home and continue their success.
While a “fat camp for teens and young adults” sounds like a good idea, the term we prefer is a “health and fitness camp for teens and young adults.” It is true that childhood obesity has reached epidemic rates in the United States while at the same time, teens and young adults are bombarded with media images of the ideal female body. Often, these images are simply unrealistic.
It is very important that when addressing your child’s weight loss issues, that we frame the intervention in a positive manner. This is why we don’t use the term “fat camp for teens and young adults” but instead focus on health, self-esteem, and overall well-being.
North Dakota Teens Find Help with Technology Overuse
Like teenagers around the world, so many North Dakota teens have electronic bedrooms. This is the first generation of teens to be immersed in the era of technology. In a typical teen’s bedroom they may have several devices like an Xbox, a laptop or computer, an iPhone, tablet, Kindle, television, and virtual reality just to name a few. It’s no wonder that sleep deprivation is a common problem for teens that overuse technology.
At our healthy habit camp, we teach campers to be mindful of the amount of time they spend online playing video games or distracted by social media. A core concept we teach is the notion of self-regulation.
We teach our campers in the Technology Track that they need to plan out their day with a “behavior planning journal” and stick to their daily plan. In this way, the day or weekend doesn’t just get away from you. With self-regulation, you have created a plan for your free time and have executed the plan in line with your goals.
North Dakota Teens Enjoy 101+ Activities at Weight Loss Camp
A great attraction at Camp Pocono Trails is the beautiful lake that campers have private access to. A boat dock is available for all teens to embark on many lake adventures. Water sports like skiing, kayaking and swimming are always available.
In addition to a private lake, campers enjoy two swimming pools. One pool is for girls and the other is for boys. Activities like water aerobics, water polo, relay races, and freestyle swimming are all available.
When addressing health and fitness in young children, it is imperative that we find healthy activities the child will participate in when they go home. In adult fitness, miles ran or calories burned are often the primary focus. For children or teens, focusing on finding and participating in physical activity they enjoy is often more beneficial. Most young people likely worry less about hitting goal numbers than they do about participating in activity that is fun.
This summer give the gift of healthy living to your teen and let them enjoy the beauty of the Poconos Mountains at Camp Pocono Trails! They will lose weight and feel great!
