Support can be emotional, meaning having a shoulder to cry on when you are discouraged. It can be practical, meaning having someone to exercise with you. Or it can be inspiring, meaning having someone to encourage you to get out and move on days where you don’t feel like moving.

Thankfully, today this can be done remotely even if your best friend from camp lives in a different time zone. With modern devices like an Apple Watch, Fitbit or Garmin activity tracking device, young adults can leave Camp Pocono Trails and continue to encourage each other by creating fitness groups that shoot for a certain amount of steps each day.

If a group member falls off or stops using their device, other group members can step in and call the former camper to see what is going on and if they can offer any social support.
