Best Fat Camp for Ohio Families!

Looking for the best fat camp for your Ohio child?

Ohio Teens Seeking Fat Camp Love Camp Pocono Trails

Our fat camp is very popular with Ohio families. The northeast Pennsylvania summer camp that Ohio teens love to go to is family owned. This makes all the difference in a quality program. Tony and Dale Sparber, the owners of Camp Pocono Trails, care first and foremost about the safety of their campers while they support their weight loss journey. While losing weight at some corporate run “Fat Camps” might be a risky business, the Sparbers ensure their campers a safe experience. They hand pick the best professionals in the industry to nurture campers through every aspect of their weight loss journey. The experience and dedication has kept this camp running successfully since 1992 and it is the reason why teen campers from Ohio receive the best quality of care throughout their stay.

What is a Fat Camp?

A “fat camp” is the common name for an all-inclusive weight loss summer camp for kids, teens, and young adults.  At Camp Pocono Trails we prefer the term “weight loss camp” as it’s a more accepting term that better describes the end result our campers are seeking. While as parents we might think we are being helpful telling our child what is wrong with them, it’s rarely helpful to hurt their feelings. Probably, your child already knows if they are overweight. They are more likely to get on board with a program that is termed a “weight loss camp” versus a “fat camp” in Ohio.

At our fat camp for Ohio campers, we get so many campers from Ohio that we decided to create this page just for parents, teens, and young adults from Ohio. Many parents drive to Camp Pocono Trails, and we can also pick up your child from major airports in our area. But you can rest assured that we get many campers from Ohio that your child will build friendships and feel right at home.

Here are some examples of how the Sparbers ensure their campers receive the best quality of care. The staff to camper ratio is 1:4. Many teens want to use the free weights in the gym and certified personal trainers guide campers to safely meet their goals. Likewise, certified group fitness trainers will support all ability levels by modifying certain movements so that injuries caused by strain do not occur. Also, fitness trainers teach campers how to make every movement count to maximize the benefits of their workout. This personalized attention promotes a positive experience in fitness where trying new activities is fun and safe for teens.

Do Fat Camps Work?

Fat camps work to help kids lose weight and keep it off through a combination of fitness, nutrition, and education. At Camp Pocono Trails, we are proven to be effective not just for losing weight during the weeks at camp, but also for helping the weight stay off upon returning home. Instead, we motivate and inspire our campers to be their best and develop long-term strategies for weight loss that will stand the test of time.

Families looking for a fat camp in Ohio will find that Camp Pocono Trails is your top choice. We have been around longer than 99% of summer camps, we are ACA accredited, and we have thousands of past campers who give us glowing reviews every year!

When Can I Go to a Fat Camp?

It’s important to register as soon as possible to guarantee your spot. Every summer we have 700 or more campers in attendance. It is truly first-come, first served. We can’t possibly make room for everyone who wants to attend, but we will try to accommodate your family’s needs.

Most weight loss camps for kids and teens are offered during the summer months when students are not at school. Programs typically run for two-week or longer sessions, and Camp Pocono Trails allows participants to stay for multiple sessions in a row. The longer campers stay in a program, the more weight they are likely to lose.

We do create custom sessions for families with a busy summer schedule. We can add on days, or start your session on a different day than listed. However, if you wish to create a custom session you need to contact our camp admissions office ASAP.

Many parents ask, “What is the ideal session length?” This is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Many younger campers go for a shorter amount of time while older campers tend to stay for many weeks or even a full summer.

Sometimes parents sign up for an early session then extend the session length for the child once they see substantial return on their investment. Either way, it is recommended that you submit your initial deposit and register for the earliest possible time to ensure your child gets in the best physical and mental shape of their life this summer.
