Best Fat Camp for Idaho Families!

The best fat camp for your Idaho adolescent, teen, or young adult.

Fat Camp for Idaho Teens

Located in PA, we are a fat camp that serves many campers from Idaho.

Fat Camp vs. Weight Loss Camp

A “fat camp” in Idaho describes a summer camp experience for adolescents, teens, and young adults striving to get in shape and lose weight for good. Campers in attendance may be struggling with obesity, body image issues, or self-esteem concerns due to their weight. We chose to use the phrase “weight loss camp” over “fat camp” at Camp Pocono Trails. Calling a child “fat” can be hurtful and make the child rebel against the program. While we do use the term “fat camp” on this page, we are much better described as a weight loss program. Our program strives to be 100% positive in all aspects.

Our fat camp gets a lot of campers from Idaho. So many in fact that we made this page just for you! Idaho families find a home away from home at Camp Pocono Trails. Without a doubt your child will find other campers from Idaho and make fast friends. We accommodate campers from Idaho every year.

At Camp Pocono Trails, we keep a positive atmosphere going 24/7. Our campers want to come back year after year because of the positivity of our program. We have over 350 pristine acres in a resort-like setting and create multiple unforgettable experiences. Teens learn sports and activities they have never tried before and get the experience of losing weight in a supportive, friendly setting.

If you are looking for a new image camp to jump start your weight loss journey come and checkout Camp Pocono Trails. This camp is nestled on 350 private acres with lakefront access. There is a multitude of indoor and outdoor activities that are led by dedicated support staff who turn up the fun!

With resort-style amenities campers enjoy two swimming pools (1 for boys, and 1 for girls), basketball courts, tennis courts, full theater, Odyssey course, driving range, gymnasium, rope course and so much more. Every Friday night everyone is invited to a dance party. Campers eager to show off their talents and new image can jump on stage with a room full of new friends. Our campers sleep in cabins and the best part is that there are no bunk beds. Everyone has their own storage space and it is the most comfortable camping experience you will ever have!

Our goal is to create positive memories related to physical activity. Many campers that attend our fitness summer camp have expressed that this is the first time they have ever felt confident in their athletic ability.

We also help our campers identify summer camp fitness activities they may want to participate in when they go home. This might include team sports or individual sports. Even if your child is completely resistant to sports, they will learn individual fitness activities including Zumba, yoga, weight lifting, and personalized sessions with a qualified personal trainer. If you would like to discuss your child’s fitness goals and see if they would be a good fit for Camp Pocono Trails, give us a call today at 1-800-365-0556.

Introducing Technology Addiction Track for Idaho Teens!

If your Idaho teen went off to college today would they be able to manage their phone and social networking with the rigorous demands of college? Get them to quick tap, tap, tapping on their phones and send them to the healthy environment of Camp Pocono Trails. In this beautiful natural setting, among their peers and new friends, your teen can explore the issues around technology addiction. The Summerland Program is the first program uniquely designed for teens to kick bad technology habits and adopt healthy habits.

With the Summerland Program at Camp Pocono Trails your teen will have support to break the habit of over-using technology. This is why you should intervene and send them to our summer camp. According to Business Insider, 2017 over 53% of college age campers across the nation use technology to procrastinate instead of doing academic work. A startling statistic is that 30% of freshman in U.S. colleges are dropping out due to an inability to handle unstructured time. Sadly, 51% of lower-skilled men in their 20’s live with their parent or close relative and report spending 75% of their leisure time playing video games.

At Camp Pocono Trails, Idaho campers can discover new activities in a supportive environment that can replace the old technology driven behaviors. Jump-start a successful college career with the support of Camp Pocono Trails!

When Can I Go to a Fat Camp?

It’s important to register as soon as possible to guarantee your spot. Every summer we have 700 or more campers in attendance. It is truly first-come, first served. We can’t possibly make room for everyone who wants to attend, but we will try to accommodate your family’s needs.

Most weight loss camps for kids and teens are offered during the summer months when students are not at school. Programs typically run for two-week or longer sessions, and Camp Pocono Trails allows participants to stay for multiple sessions in a row. The longer campers stay in a program, the more weight they are likely to lose.

We do create custom sessions for families with a busy summer schedule. We can add on days, or start your session on a different day than listed. However, if you wish to create a custom session you need to contact our camp admissions office ASAP.

Many parents ask, “What is the ideal session length?” This is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Many younger campers go for a shorter amount of time while older campers tend to stay for many weeks or even a full summer.

Sometimes parents sign up for an early session then extend the session length for the child once they see substantial return on their investment. Either way, it is recommended that you submit your initial deposit and register for the earliest possible time to ensure your child gets in the best physical and mental shape of their life this summer.
